The Holding It Together Club

This Shipping Policy explains how and when we send your envelopes, what to expect, and what happens if something goes wrong. It sits alongside our Terms and Conditions and forms part of your agreement with us.

What you're getting

The Holding It Together Club is a monthly subscription. Each month we send one physical envelope to the address on your account. Postage is included in your subscription price, so there's no separate shipping charge at checkout.

  • UK subscribers: £9.99/month, postage included.
  • International subscribers: £12.99/month, postage included.

When your first envelope ships

You receive the envelope for the month you order in. Order in June and you get June's envelope, whenever in June you subscribe.

We send each month's envelopes in more than one run. The main run goes out on or around the 15th. After that, we do weekly sends through the rest of the month to catch every order that came in after the main run. So:

  • Subscribe before the main run (on or around the 15th): your envelope goes out in that main run.
  • Subscribe in the second half of the month: your envelope goes out in one of the later weekly runs, with the final run of the month closing out everyone who ordered that month.

If you order right at the end of the month, your envelope may land a few days into the following month because of normal postal time, but it is still that month's envelope, sent to you.

You'll always be told at checkout and in your welcome email which envelope is your first and roughly when it will go out.

When later envelopes ship

After your first envelope, you stay on the regular monthly cycle. Your renewal envelope goes out in the main run on or around the 15th of each month, for as long as your subscription is active.

Your payment date and your dispatch date are not the same thing. Payment recurs on the anniversary of the date you subscribed; envelopes go out on the monthly schedule above. This means there's normally a gap between being charged and the envelope arriving, which is expected.

How we send it

We send envelopes by Royal Mail as an untracked large letter within the UK, and by standard international post for overseas subscribers.

Because the service is untracked, there's no tracking number to follow. We've chosen this so we can keep postage included in the price rather than passing a tracked-postage cost on to you. The trade-off is that we rely on the timescales below, and on our resend promise, rather than on tracking.

Delivery times

Delivery times are estimates from the date of dispatch, not from the date you subscribed or were charged. They are not guaranteed.

  • UK: 2–5 working days after dispatch.
  • International: 7–21 working days after dispatch.

International times vary more because of distance and customs processing in the destination country.

If your envelope doesn't arrive

Untracked post very occasionally goes missing or is delayed. If your envelope hasn't arrived within:

  • 14 days of dispatch (UK), or
  • 28 days of dispatch (international),

please email us at hi@holdingittogetherclub.com and we'll sort it out.

Our standard fix is to resend the envelope. If a resent envelope also fails to arrive, we'll refund that month rather than send a third. We'd rather get the thing to you than give your money back, but if the post is clearly working against us, the refund is there.

We can't resend or refund for non-arrival caused by:

  • An incorrect or incomplete delivery address you've given us;
  • An address you didn't update in time (see Changing your address below);
  • Post held, returned, or delayed by customs, postal strikes, or other events outside our control.

Changing your address

You can update your delivery address any time by logging into your account or emailing us.

To take effect for your next envelope, address changes need to reach us by the 8th of the month to be included in the main run on or around the 15th. If your envelope is going out in one of the later weekly runs, a change needs to reach us at least 3 working days before that run. Changes made too close to a run will apply to the following one.

If you're not sure which run your envelope falls into, email us and we'll tell you.

If an envelope comes back to us as undeliverable, we'll email you to arrange a resend. Where the return was caused by incorrect address information, we may ask you to cover the cost of re-posting.

International orders, customs and import charges

For international subscribers, any customs duties, import taxes, or handling fees charged by your own country are your responsibility, not ours. These are set by your country's customs authority and are outside our control. We can't predict or refund them.

We ship to the UK and to selected international destinations. The destinations we currently ship to are shown at checkout. If we don't ship to your country, you won't be able to complete an order.
